 About National Defence Academy (NDA)

NDA is joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces where selected cadets trained together for The Army, The Navy , The Air Force before the go on to respective service academies for further training.

National Defence Academy located at khadakwasla  near Pune Maharashtra.

This academy has produced 27 Service Chiefs till date. Current Chiefs of all three forces are all NDA alumni.

Selection to NDA :

Applicants to NDA are selected by a written exam

by UPSC, followed by extensive interviews conducted by SSB, covering general aptitude, team skills, psychological testing as well as physical and social skills along with medical test.

Who can apply : 

Anyone who’s minimum age is 16 and half and maximum age is 19 and half.

For The Army  one must be 12th pass or appearing.

For The Air force and The Navy one must be 12th pass with Physics and Mathematics or appearing.

About NDA Exam :

NDA exam conducted twice a year, written exam consists of two sections 1st Mathematics, 300 marks and 2nd General Ability test, 600 marks of duration 2 to 2:30 hrs. Both paper consist of negative marking. There are on an average 120 Mathematics questions,50 English questions and 100 General knowledge which includes  questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Sciences, History, Geography and Current events.
